Chameleon Lounge Bar is for everyone!
When it comes to diversity on the Coast, we are all for it. Times they are a-changin they say — or was that Bob Dylan?anyway, its great to see our fair city accommodate and move with the times. One part of that movement is undoubtedly the acknowledgement and openness to the LGBTQIA+ collective. For some time, there hasnt been an officially recognised LGBTQIA+ venue on the Gold Coast — till now. And we have to say, were confident to announce the arrival of Broadbeachs Chameleon Lounge Bar and Restaurant.
Overall, the venue welcomes everyone the way they are. Which is true to the Chameleon name.
Broadbeachs Surf Parade is already a hive of drinks, entertainment, great food, and all up a generally good period. Appropriate then that Chameleon finds itself pride of place here after taking over the aged site of what used to be Molly Malones.

A gay bar finally returns to the Gold Coast with hopes to unite 'disconnected' community
There is recent hope that the Gold Coast's "scattered" LGBTQI+ scene will locate a greater sense of community after the city's first gay bar in more than two years opened.
Key points:
- There hasn't been a dedicated LGBTQI+ safe venue on the Gold Coast for more than two years
- A new bar has opened in Broadbeach aimed at the community and its allies
- Gold Coast Rainbow Communities has welcomed the venue and says more are on the way
Dan Duncan launched Chameleon Lounge Bar last week to address what he described as a "disconnected" community.

While there are LGBTQI+ safe events throughout the city, including performative shows like Flamboyance, Mr Duncan said there was a need for somewhere to meet.
'Sit, relax, have a few drinks'

Hospitality professional Dan Duncan last week opened Chameleon Lounge Bar on Broadbeach as the Gold Coast’s first LGBTQI space to open in more than two years.
Earlier this year, Star Observer had spoken with a number of individuals from the Gold Coast LGBTQI community, about how there was a distinct lack of LGBTQI spaces for locals. As a city with a population of over ,, it was clear, something needed to change.
“This is somewhere people could come chill, have a pleasant meal, play pool and actually get together people and be able to chat to each other. I own another restaurant, but when I found this space, I realised the potential that it held and that was as a space to build a protected space for the LGBTQI community,” Duncan told Star Observer.
Broadbeach itself, away from the main nightclub district of Surfer Paradise, has as Duncan describes, offered the perfect see for such a venue.
Queer Spaces Are Essential
Aside from regular LGBTQI events and drag shows held at a spattering of Gold Coast venues, the last remaining solely LGBTQI venue, Rise Nigh

The very warm climate, golden sands and crystal cerulean waters make gay Gold Coast Australia a place of interest for vacation destinations. The city is primed with beautiful sights and even more lovely gay nightlife.
Located just south of Brisbane, the Gold Coast boasts over 57 kilometers of coastline, including some of the world’s best beaches. Surfers Paradise is perhaps the most famous, with its high-rise buildings, white sand, and clear blue waters. But there are plenty of other beaches to examine, including Broadbeach, Burleigh Heads, and Coolangatta.
Beyond the beaches, the Gold Coast is home to a plethora of attractions that cater to all ages and interests. The city’s theme parks are some of the most popular, with Dreamworld, Warner Bros. Film World, Sea World, and Wet’n’Wild all in proximity to each other. Each park offers a one-of-a-kind experience, from thrill
