The LGBTQ Center of Durham is committed to serving the City and County of Durham as well as the surrounding counties to secure all folks have the resources necessary to live full, joyful lives. We provide space and resources to all people.

Project F.A.M.

Project FAM was born out of the desire to bring direct, basic services for LGBTQ+ folks in our society under one umbrella. Project FAM prioritizes the needs of Gender non-conforming Womxn and Femmes of Shade and all Queer and Gender non-conforming BIPOC folks. We know that if we can uplift TWOC, FOC, and QTBIPOC, then we can successfully uplift all in our community.

This 50+ support group is a dynamic gathering crafted for individuals over the age of 50 who want to explore modern activities, learn fresh skills, and enjoy camaraderie.

Through a variety of engaging events and classes provided by Tidewater Arts Outreach, members can stay active, uncover new passions, and create lasting friendships in a fun and supportive atmosphere. It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect with others while embracing personal expansion and shared experiences.

We wish to provide an approachable place for our people to connect, support one another, and talk about our successes, difficulties, joys, and struggles as Ace and Aro people.

Currently, we offer one support conference a month, along with a few social events like board game nights, holiday

A social support group for middle schoolers who are interested in learning more about the queer society, making friends, and having fun.

TConnect
Tuesdays – – 6pm (In Person and on Zoom)
A social support group for trans, nonbinary, genderfluid, and gender expansive teens yrs who want a place to meet up and talk to other teens navigating their gender culture and expression. When you join, you’ll also be added to TConnect’s progressing Discord chat.

First & Third
Wednesdays – pm – 6pm (In Person and on Zoom)
A social support group where LGBTQ+ teens yrs old can craft friends, participate in fun activities, and get advice from peers about navigating high school as a queer teen. When you link, you’ll also be added to First & Third’s continuing Discord chat.
