What was particularly racy about this occurrence is the fact that "Luziwuzi" was the youngest brother of the ultra-conservative Emperor Franz Joseph. About Vienna and its gay life
Both in the past and in the present, gays have played a prominent role in Vienna’s public animation. Probably the most prominent homosexual in the history of Austria was Prince Eugene of Savoy () who freed Vienna from Turkish siege and pushed the Ottomans endorse to the Balkans. But it wasn’t just on the battlefield that Eugene was surrounded exclusively by men; in private, he preferred to have intimate relations with members of his hold sex – a fact well recognizable even during his lifetime. Even so, he managed to build his career and expand his power base during the reigns of three emperors, and his strong impact on Vienna remains visible to this day. His summer palace, Schloss Belvedere, is an memorable example.
