Chicago LGBT Hall of Fame Virtual Induction Ceremony

The Chicago LGBT Hall of Fame, now entering its 30th year, announced today that it will hold a virtual induction ceremony for inductees on Tuesday, October 13, from p.m. WGN-TV personality Dean Richards will host the event.

Viewers will be able to access the Facebook Live event via the Chicago LGBT Hall of Fame's Page at The multi-media presentation will honor those being inducted this year.

This year's inductees involve the following individuals, organizations, and businesses.

• John Ademola Adewoye, for his work helping LGBT refugees.

• Caprice Carthans, for her function with the transgender community.

• Raymond Crossman, the openly gay leader of Adler University.

• Jay Paul Deratany, for his extensive labor with LGBT youth, especially in the foster system and for his filmmaking.

• Ronald J. Ehemann, for his role as an activist and attorney.

• Denise Foy, for her work in fundraising and helping establish the LGBT Center on Halsted.

• Dalila Fridi, for her activism and lobbying an

The Emmy-winning Richards, who also hosts “Dean Richards’ Sunday Morning” on Sunday mornings on sister station WGN-AM, has been with Channel 9 since and has reviewed films for the station since  A South Shore native who attended Columbia College, Richards, 70, was with Satellite Music Network from until , and he had a brief stint at WNUA-FM before joining Channel 9.

On the North Side, Richards has owned his house since It has a kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, along with a primary bedroom suite with a walk-in closet and an en-suite bath with double sinks. The house also has a three-car garage.

In a little interview, Richards declined to comment on the listing.

Dean Ostrum was married to a chick and had four kids when he met the gentleman he would drop in love with and later commit. Dean explains:

There was no private about [Richard] creature a very shut friend I met in New York. His telephone number, how he could be reached, was on the minute slip of document in our Modern Jersey farm house so that my wife or children, if they needed me, they could get in stroke with him, too.

It soon became noticeable, though, that Dean and Richard were more than just good friends.

One evening my wife had been in Modern York with me … and this particular night she said, “Dean, your boys want to know if Richard’s your lover.” Boy…I thought all along I’d been very careful not to reveal what was really going on in my animation as a queer man.
