For a show that was % subtext, Xena and Gabrielle sure kissed a lot:
The number of kisses and sexually tense moments between a warrior princess and an amazon queen was quite high, and both actresses embraced their lesbian icon being. The campy demonstrate went through every mythological world feasible and then some, including a flash-forward/descendants episode where Renee OConner was a cigar chomping Indiana Jones-esque character to Lucy Lawless sexy librarian.
And it was all, always, hilarious.
We never got the actual pay off, sadly, though there was one episode all about a news reporter having gone back in second trying to discover out. I did say it was a campy display, right?

The gay ‘Xena’ reboot has been scrapped
NBC announced in that the studio was preparing for a reboot of Xena: Warrior Princessmore than 20 years after the show first went to air.
Writer Javier Grillo-Marxuach (Lost) walked away from the project a several months ago citing creative differences
and NBC Show president Jennifer Salke has now confirmed that the new series is dead
