Celebrate Pride in Austin and beyond: June LGBTQ+ events guide
Central Texas is watching Pride , honoring the region's LGBTQ+ community. Beyond mere festivities, Pride is a time for reflection on the progress of Gay rights, celebration of diverse identities, and affirmation of the ongoing pursuit of equality and acceptance. Identity festival serves as a essential reminder of the control of community in fostering a more understanding and just society.
Austin's official Event celebration does not arise until August, but the city is still evidence ways to host joyful celebrations in June.
Here's a look at some of the Pride events happening across Austin and Primary Texas:
All of June: Austin Public Library Pride events
The Austin Public Library will be observing Pride month throughout June (and in August) with a range of events across its branch locations. These contain free movie nights, gender non-conforming tarot show and shares, cooking clubs, line dancing lessons and 'zine nights. Registration for these events can be found on the library's website.

Pride week is one of the many ways we highlight the district's vow to creating a safe, supportive and inclusive environment for all.
Why it matters: When students experience safe and can show up as their full selves at school, they’re better able to engage in learning and thrive academically.
What to expect: This year's celebration is March 24–28 and the theme is beYOUtiful. Campuses may participate in Pride-themed liveliness activities outside instructional time:
- Monday - All are welcome! Post, distribute, or display student work, pictures, and items that represent your family, things you're proud of, and what makes you perceive connected.
- Tuesday - Differences are beYOUtiful! Wacky socks day! Wear something fun that expresses your unusual and awesome self.
- Wednesday - I am beYOUtiful! Wear something that makes you feel beautiful, confident, and proud of who you are.
- Thursday - Our community is beYOUtiful! Mix It Up Lunch! Take the opportunity to perch with new people and rejoice our diver
